Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Antude and our apps handle your information. The short version: we're privacy-first, collect as little as possible, and never sell your data.

1. Overview

Antude ("we", "us", "our") builds privacy-friendly software, including the apps Torrq and Docsy. This Privacy Policy describes the information our website and apps may handle, how it's used, and the choices you have.

We designed our apps to work without collecting personal data wherever possible. Most of what our apps do happens entirely on your device.

2. Information we collect

We aim to collect the minimum necessary. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Information you provide — e.g. when you email us for support or use our contact form (your name, email, and message).
  • Device & diagnostic data — limited, non-identifying technical information (such as app version or crash logs) that helps us fix issues and improve stability. This is only collected where you've allowed it.
  • On-device data — content the app works with (such as files or downloads) stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our apps and website.
  • To respond to your support requests and communications.
  • To diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
  • To meet legal obligations where applicable.

We do not sell your personal data or build advertising profiles ourselves.

4. Advertising

Our apps are free and supported by ads. We use Google ads (Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads) to display advertising inside the apps.

  • To serve ads, Google may collect and process certain data — such as a device advertising identifier, coarse usage signals, and standard device information — in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Antude does not receive, collect, or store this advertising data on our own servers, and we never sell it.
  • You can limit ad personalisation or reset your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).

5. Torrq — Torrent Downloader

Torrq is an Android torrent downloader. It is designed to operate locally on your device:

  • No account required. You don't need to sign up or sign in to use Torrq.
  • Files stay on your device. Torrents you add, downloads, and file contents are stored locally and are not sent to Antude.
  • Network activity. Like any torrent client, Torrq connects to peers and trackers you choose to interact with. That traffic happens directly between your device and those peers — not through Antude's servers.
  • Ads. Torrq is free and supported by ads served through Google. To show ads, Google may use a device advertising identifier; Antude does not receive or store your personal data through this. See Advertising above.
  • Optional diagnostics. Anonymous crash/stability data may be collected only if your device or settings permit it, to help us fix problems.

App-specific

6. Docsy — PDF Viewer

Docsy is currently in development. It is being built with the same privacy-first principles:

  • Local-first. Documents you open are processed on your device.
  • No account required to view your files.
  • Ad-supported. Like Torrq, Docsy is planned to be free and supported by Google ads, without Antude storing your personal data.

This section will be updated with full detail before Docsy is published.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data in limited cases:

  • With service providers who help us operate (e.g. email or crash-reporting), under strict confidentiality.
  • When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

8. Device permissions

Our apps request only the permissions needed to function — for example, storage access so a download or document can be saved and opened. You can review and revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.

9. Security & retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect any information we handle. Because most data stays on your device, the information we hold is minimal. We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to assist you and meet legal requirements.

10. Children's privacy

Our apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
